3. Intended use

This cable tester is designed to test cables with 2 to 8 wires and their shielding with the following
connections: RJ45 and BNC. Cables without connectors can be connected using the supplied
cable with crocodile clips or by means of the measuring tips. Length and fault detection are
possible with cable lengths of min. 5 m to 3000 m. The maximum measuring length depends
on the speed factor value of a cable. 1.5 - 3.0 km is possible. Unknown speed factors can by
determined and saved by testing cables with known lengths. Test results are shown on the
display. Only take measurements on voltage-free installations. The cable tester is only approved
for battery operation with 2 x 1.5 V LR6 batteries.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g.
in a bathroom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as a short circuit or fire. Read the operating instructions carefully
and store them in a safe place. If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand over these
operating instructions as well.
