Intended use

The cable tester serves for the fast automatic testing of BNC and
RJ45 network cables for errors like open, short-circuited, mis-
matched or wrongly paired connections. The connection screening
is tested as well. The removable cable end also enables testing in
installed network systems.
A signal can be fed to the cable to be tested to trace it with optimum
line detectors.
The line tester can be used in different network systems like e.g.
10Base-T, EIA/TIA-568/568B, AT&T258A, Token Ring, 10Base-
2/10Base-5.
The cable tester may be connected to voltage-free networks only.
Operation is only admissible with a 9V block battery.
The device must not be operated when it is open, i.e. with an open
battery compartment or when the battery compartment cover is mis-
sing. Operation is not permitted under adverse ambient conditions.
Adverse ambient conditions include:
- Excessive dampness or humidity
- Dust or combustible gases, vapours or solvents
- Electrical storms or conditions as during a storm, e.g. strong
electrostatic fields
Any use other than that described above will damage the product
and may involve other risks, such as short-circuit, fire, electric
shock. Do not change or modify any part of the product.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

Problème
Le testeur de câbles
ne fonctionne pas.
Les réparations autres que celles décrites précédemment
doivent être exécutées uniquement par un technicien
qualifié et agréé.
