Mounting the scanning head

Scope of supply
S Scanning head with connecting cable
S Sectioned flange-mounted socket with mounting screws (attached)
S Feeler gauge
– for modulus m = 0.3: 0.15 mm
– for modulus m = 0.5: 0.20 mm

3.1 Tolerances when mounting

When mounting the scanning head, the following tolerances must be maintained in
order to guarantee the correct functioning of the gear wheel encoder.
Attention
The specified tolerances must be maintained in operation for all operational
conditions (temperature, speed, vibration etc.).
Concentricity
Concentricity, measured at the crown circle of the gear wheel and at the separation
track, radial runout < 20 mm (mounted gear wheel).
Dimension x (refer to Section 4)
Dimension x (nominal dimension = 38 mm) can manifest temperature–related fluc-
tuations due to the various coefficients of expansion of the spindle and spindle
housing. It should be guaranteed, that 38 mm +1.0/–0.2 mm is maintained under
all operating conditions.
Tangential offset
Tangential offset between the scanning head and shaft center point
offset <  0.1 mm.
