Clean the gear wheel and the slot which accepts the scanning head to re-
move any foreign bodies.
Locate the scanning head in the centering groove at the encoder slot and
gently tighten the mounting screws so that the scanning head can still be
moved.
Place the feeler gauge between the scanning head and gear wheel as
shown in the diagram. It should be noted that the encoder scanning surface
and the feeler gauge must be clean.
Then gently press the scanning head against the already mounted gear
wheel. Tighten-up the mounting screws, alternating, up to 5 Nm. If required,
relieve any tension in the connecting cable.
The feeler gauge must be able to be removed with hardly any force.
Mount the flange-mounted socket. Detailed mounting instructions are inclu-
ded in the package of loosely supplied parts.

The temperature sensor cables must be connected with the correct polarity
to the appropriate motor connections (brown: TEMP+, white: TEMP–).
Connect the shield of the cable at the motor through the largest possible
surface area. If the temperature sensor cable is not required, it can be shor-
tened. When removing the cable from the rubber gasket, degree of protec-
tion IP65 is no longer guaranteed.
