10. Operating the quadrocopter

a) Charging the quadrocopter rechargeable battery

The quadrocopter rechargeable battery can be charged with the approx. 55 cm long USB charging cable included.
The charging cable in Figure 4 is wound up for photo-technical reasons. Before first use, remove the cable
tie and fully unwind the charging cable.
Charging:
Insert the reverse polarity protected mini USB plug (1)
of the charging cable into the charging socket (2) of the
quadrocopter rechargeable battery (3).
As soon as the USB plug on the charging cable (4) is con-
nected to a USB port on a computer/notebook or to a USB
charger plug, charging begins automatically.
Important:
The USB port output current must be at least
500 mA.
The green charging control LED (5) on the quadrocopter
rechargeable battery case goes on during charging.
When charging is complete and the quadrocopter re-
chargeable battery is fully charged, the green charging
control LED goes out.
Disconnect the charging cable from the quadrocopter re-
chargeable battery immediately after charging and unplug
the USB plug of the charging cable from the computer/
laptop or charger plug.
Warning!
Do not connect the USB cable to a USB hub
without its own power supply (e.g. a USB port
on a keyboard), as the current is not sufficient
to charge the quadrocopter rechargeable bat-
tery.
The operating system will not recognise any new hardware when the charging cable is connected, as the USB port is
only used to charge the rechargeable quadrocopter battery. Please note that the USB ports on computers/laptop are
normally only active when the computer/laptop is turned on.
We therefore recommend that you only connect the charging cable to a computer/laptop that is switched on.
Important!
Only charge the quadrocopter rechargeable battery in the quadrocopter using the included charging cable.
Never attempt to charge the rechargeable battery in the quadrocopter with a different or unsuitable charger!
