9. Commissioning

a) Screen/DVR

• If there is protective foil on the LC display (2), remove it now.
• Install the enclosed holder on the rear of the screen/DVR. For this, release the fastening screw in the holder so
that the square metal piece can be inserted into the holding rail on the rear of the screen. Fasten the holder to the
screen/DVR with the fastening screw.
The holder can equally be used for installation on the wall or on horizontal or inclined areas. For this, it can
be attached using 4 suitable screws (and dowels if appl.).
There also is a strip of adhesive tape at the bottom of the holder. If the holder is to be glued on, a level,
smooth, clean, dust- and grease-free surface is required. Pull off the protective strip and push the holder
on firmly.
The screen/DVR can be set up easily with the holder as well (without fixed installation). Protect expensive
furniture surfaces from impressions, discolourations or scratches with suitable pads in this case.
• Screw on the (black) aerial at the top of the screen/DVR. The aerial can be tipped and aligned to improve reception.
• The AV output (2) can be connected to an analogue video/audio input of a surveillance screen via the enclosed
AV-cable (BNC-plug = video signal, cinch plug = audio signal).
• Now take the larger of the two enclosed mains adapters (output voltage 12 V/DC, output current 1.25 A). Connect
the low-voltage round plug the mains adapter to the corresponding socket (3) of the screen/DVR.
• Plug the mains adapter into a proper mains socket of the public mains. The power LED (11) lights up.
• A suitable SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card is needed to save the video recording (not enclosed, can be ordered
separately, max. 128 GByte). Put it into the corresponding insert (14) in the correct alignment. With the memory
card inserted, a small "SD" icon appears at the lower right of the display.
The memory card should be empty (or there still must be enough memory left). The only file format permit-
ted is FAT/FAT32 (no NTFS). If necessary, the memory card can be reformatted; all present data will be
lost.
When using a memory card, it is important that it corresponds at least to type "Class 4" (or higher). Memory
cards of this type permit a writing speed of at least 4 MByte/s and are absolutely necessary for proper func-
tion when recording surveillance videos.
Observe that the writing protection of the memory card is deactivated.
A change of the memory card in current operation of the screen/DVRs is not possible. Neither a recording
nor playback must be running. If this is not observed, the file system of the memory card may be damaged,
which will cause existing recordings to be lost.
