M-Bus add-on module EWA600C-MBUS

The M-Bus add-on module EWA600C-MBUS facilitates communications be-
tween a heat meter and an M-Bus control unit to transfer the measured values.
The measured values of the meter are read out and updated by the M-Bus
add-on module via the optical interfaces periodically, at intervals of 10 minutes.
After intermediate storage in the M-Bus add-on module, the usage data is
transferred to an M-Bus control unit via the M-Bus upon request.

Connection to the M-Bus

The M-Bus cable is installed on the basis of EN 13757-2.
Please note the following instructions:
• Use high-quality spring-loaded terminals or crimp connections suitable for
the cross-sections.
• Avoid unnecessary scanning of the M-Bus.
• Put the M-Bus into operation in one session if possible.
• Ensure the M-Bus has an uninterruptible power supply.
• Avoid switching the M-Bus off.
• Avoid short-circuits in the M-Bus cable during service work and retrofi t
installations.
Voltage supply
The M-Bus add-on module EWA600C-MBUS is also equipped with a battery
in addition to any power supply that may be present via the M-Bus connection.
This provides the supply for the add-on module processor if there is no M-Bus
voltage present.
