2.4.1. Automatic temperature management

The control unit comes pre-set to the minimum and maximum temperature values inside the cabinet, as
determined during product order. These settings take into account both the temperature that is required for
the food products in the cabinet as well as the operating temperature of the cabinet (the heat generated by
the cabinet itself during normal operation).
During operation, the controller receives temperature readings from a temperature sensor inside the cabinet.
When the temperature reaches the pre-set maximum value, the controller opens an expansion valve on the
refrigerant line and starts a cooling cycle. During the cooling cycle, cold refrigerant is lead into the evaporator
to cool the air flowing across the evaporator fins.
Once the temperature has decreased to the pre-set minimum value, the controller shuts off the expansion
valve, ending the cooling cycle.
The temperature inside the cabinet should be checked at regular intervals.
In case of any problems, please contact your service company.

2.4.2. Automatic defrosting

As refrigerant enters the evaporator coils it is colder than the freezing point of water. When warmer air flows
across the evaporator fins, moisture in the air condenses and may freeze onto the evaporator coils. If there
is an excessive amount of frozen condensate on the evaporator, it leads to ineffective operation.
To keep the cabinet running efficiently, the evaporator is defrosted regularly. At pre-defined times, an
electrical defrost heater switches on for a maximum of 30 minutes. During defrosting, the temperature inside
the cabinet rises a few degrees. If the evaporator temperature reaches the pre-set maximum value before 30
minutes, the control unit switches defrosting off.
The drain water from defrosting (condensate) is gravity-fed through piping to a sewage drain. It is also
possible to use a pump to transfer the condensate to a sewage drain.
Although defrosting occurs automatically, the cabinet can also be defrosted manually, if needed.
Contact your nearest service organisation if you need help with defrosting or cleaning.
