Switching on

This device has a mains switch on the back and this can be used to
interrupt mains power to the device if you do not use it for a longer period
of time. The device then uses no energy.
When the mains switch on the back of the device is switched on power is
supplied to the device. This creates continuous heat in the device, which is
completely normal and is not dangerous when there is proper ventilation.
Danger!
Never cover the ventilation openings on the base and upper
side of the device. The device produces heat even when in
standby mode. If the ventilation openings are covered there is
a risk of fire.
Do not leave devices that are switched on unsupervised.
Remove the mains plug from the socket if you cannot
supervise the device for longer periods of time (e.g. when you
are on holiday).
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and remove the device's
aerial cable if a storm is approaching.
This prevents a local lightning strike from damaging your
devices.

Fine tuning of the satellite signal

As soon as the aerial is roughly aligned switch the TV and satellite receiver
on. Ensure that your TV is set to the AV channel. If you have set up all
the connections correctly the receiver's menu on the screen shows "
s i g na l
".
Please note that the receiver is pre-programmed for the most standard
satellites and their programmes and that you merely have to enter the
programme slots via the number pad on the receiver's remote control.
If you want to receive ASTRA1 19.2°E, you simply have to set your
receiver to programme position 1 to align your aerial. The same
applies for other satellites, such as Hotbird. If you want to align your
aerial for Hotbird, you must call up the pre-programmed channel
selection for Hotbird on your receiver.
Now align your aerial toward the selected satellite. There are several
possibilities for doing this. The simplest and cheapest solution is as
