Roughly line up the aerial
Your aerial is aligned in two different directions:
Elevation: Move your aerial vertically (up/down)
Azimuth: Turn the aerial horizontally (left/right)
Note
To precisely align the aerial and to ensure the best possible
reception even in poor weather, professional aerial installers use a
signal measuring device. This shows the level of the signal being
received. Only the use of this measuring device guarantees that
your aerial is really ideally positioned.
a) Elevation angle
Now determine the elevation angle as per your location and the satellite to
which the aerial should be aligned. The angles are found in the
appendix of these operating instructions.
Now move your aerial as required up or down to reach the correct angle.
Then tighten the elevation nuts on the angle holder; this is a temporary
alignment that you may need to adjust later.
You can finely adjust the elevation angle by later following the highest
signal level on your screen as soon as all alignments have been completed.
b) Azimuth
Now refer to the azimuth angle of the selected satellite in the list in the
appendix of these instructions.
Align the aerial in a southerly direction and turn it left or right. Use the
compass to reach the precise alignment.
All European satellites are positioned in the south; there are slight
differences in the azimuth angle between the satellites.
