Accessories

Accessories are not included in the scope of delivery and
must be ordered separately.
8.1

Magnetic tape

8.1.1 Magnetic tape
All magnetic tapes listed here as examples are designed to
be used with an optional adhesive tape for attachment and
can be protected with a cover strip (see section 8.2 on
page 24).
When selecting the magnetic tape, make sure
that the magnetic tape and sensor head are
compatible. This particularly applies to the
following:
– Pole width
– For reference points (none, one, two or more
(fixed-periodic)), see section 3.4.2 and
section 3.4.3 on page 9.
Magnetic tape with incremental track, no reference

(for sensor head without reference point function or with
pole-periodic reference point function)

Cover strip

To protect the magnetic tape from damage caused by
chips or chemicals, you may cover it using a stainless steel
cover strip. The thickness of the cover strip, including
adhesive layer, is 0.15 mm.
Important!
The permissible air gap between the sensor
head and magnetic tape is reduced by the
thickness of the cover strip.
The cover strip can be ordered together with the magnetic
tape (in tape length, accessory position in the tape type
code, see User's Guide – Magnetic Tape) or on a reel in
four defined lengths.
