Idle mode

To set the speaker (A) to idle mode, briefly press the Standby button (1). While idle, the speaker
(A) keeps the network connection alive so the connection is available immediately after switching it
back on. Please note that the power consumption is higher in idle mode than in standby mode.

Standby mode

Keep the Standby button (1) pressed for approx. three seconds to enable the standby mode. In this
operating mode the speaker consumes a minimum of power.

Playback modes

You can also press the Mode / Spotify button (2) on the speaker to toggle between the 6 playback
modes:
‐ Internet radio
‐
Spotify
‐ Music streaming
‐
Local music
‐ Music player
‐
AUX in
Hold the Mode/Spotify button (2) down for about 2 seconds to select the Spotify mode directly.

Switching the speaker off

Toggle the power switch (12) located on the back panel of the unit to "OFF" to switch the speaker
(A) off.

Playing back music

The SMRS 18 A1 speaker lets you play music from the following sources:

Internet radio

music services

USB media and DLNA/UPNP playback / Local files

External audio source (e.g. MP3 player) via audio cable
You can use your smartphone or tablet PC for playback control. Additionally, you can adjust the
volume on the speaker.

Mono / stereo playback

You can use the switch (8) on the back panel to adjust the speaker output signal.
If there is only one speaker installed, you should set the switch to "MONO". This will mix the left
and right audio channels.
If you have installed two of these speakers you can use them in stereo mode. Proceed as follows:

Use the SilverCrest Smart-Audio app to group both speakers.
