What to Do
When check is not OK, refer to this column
Replace spring if broken. Realign spring with brush.
Clean brush holders, remove carbon dust with a small
cleaning brush. Check whether carbon can be correct-
ly installed again in the right position.
Replace con rod.
Inspect drive housing assembly and gears for damage
and replace if necessary.
Tighten the packing nut to redress the leakage.
Replace paint level.
Replace paint level.
Check and tighten all liquid-carrying connections.
Allow pump to cycle as slowly as possible during pri-
ming.
Clear tip. See Cleanup.
Refill fluid supply. Prime pump. Check fluid supply
often to prevent running pump dry.

Clean intake valve. Make sure the ball seat is not
nicked or worn and that the ball is properly seated.
Reassemble valve.

Thin the paint according to supplier recommenda-
