repairs, all compiled in the language of the country

2.1. Defi nitions
"User": Person or department responsible for the
management and safety of use of the product described
in the manual.
"Technician": Qualifi  ed person in charge of the
maintenance operations described in, and authorised
by the user manual, who is competent and familiar with
the product.
"Operator": Operational personnel involved in the use
of the product as it is intended to be used.
"PPE": Personal protective equipment against falls from
height.
"Connector":
Connection
components of a fall-arrest system. This is EN 362
compliant.
"Fall-arrest harness": Body harness designed to arrest
falls.Itconsists ofstrapsand buckles. Itfeaturesfall-
arrest attachment points marked with an A if they can
be used alone, or marked with A/2 if they are to be used
in combination with another A/2 point. This is EN 361
Standard compliant.
lifeline": Fall-arrester with an
"Self-retracting
automatic locking function and an automatic tensioning
and recoil system for the retractable lanyard.

"Fall-arrest system": Equipment consisting of following
components:

2.2. Pictograms
DANGER: Placed at the beginning of the line,
refers to instructions to avoid injury to persons,
including death, serious or minor injuries, and
damage to the environment.

damage to equipment, but do not directly
endangering the life or health of the operator or that
of others, and/or not likely to cause environmental
damage.

 V erifi  cationbeforeuse(fi gure 3):
• Check the condition of the lanyard along its entire
length (fi gure 3.a):
– the synthetic wire rope or the strap must not show
any signs of abrasion, fraying, burns or cuts.
– the metal rope must not show any traces of
bending, scraping, corrosion or broken strands.
• Check that the lanyard blocks when you pull sharply
on its end (fi gure 3.b) and that it winds and unwinds
