4.10 Creating user accounts

For access to the recorder different user accounts
can be created. For each user an individual pass-
word can be defined. The users can be assigned to
different user groups with different authority levels
(e. g. administrator, supervisor, operator, viewer or
guest). To add a user account:
1) Call the page "NVR Setup ± System Configura-
tion ± User Account" in the recorder settings.
2) Enter a new user name in the field "User
Name:". For this purpose, only use the following
characters: A – Z, a – z, 0 – 9 oder _.@
3) Enter the desired password in the field "Pass-
word:" and enter it once again in the field "Con-
firm Password:" to confirm.
4) In the list field "Group:" select the user group for
the user. The name of the user group and their
authorities can be changed later (
4.10.2).
5) In the list field "Language:" select the language
to be used in the user interface for this user.
All further inputs about the user (company,
department, phone numbers, e-mail address,
description) are optional.
6) To store a new user account, click the button
"Add".
The new user account now appears in the list of all
user accounts at the top of this page. To delete a
user account, select it in the list and click the button
"Remove", to change the properties, click the but-
ton "Edit".

Note: To make unauthorized access to the recorder
more difficult, it is indispensable to change the
password for the standard user account "admin".

4.10.1 Display of the user information

The user presently logged in is shown in each view
at the top on the right next to "User:". Click the user
name to insert a window with information about the
user account. It is possible to change the language
of the user account via this window at any time:
Select a language from the list field "Language:"
and confirm via the button "Apply" or cancel the
window via "Cancel" without a change.

4.10.2 Changing user groups

Each user account is assigned to one of 7 user
groups. These groups have differently preset
authority levels. The name and the authorities of a
group may, however, be changed (except for the
groups "admin" and "guest").
1) Call the page "NVR Setup ± System Configura-
tion ± Group Privilege" in the recorder settings.

2) Select the group to be changed (Group 1...5) in
the list field "Group:".
3) In the list field "Account Type:" select the desired
authority level. In addition, by activation / deacti-
vation, individual authorities may be cancelled
or granted again.
4) To change the group name, click the button
"Change Group Name". Enter the new name into
the field appearing on the right.
5) Confirm the change of the group properties
by clicking the button "Apply" or cancel it with
"Cancel".
