Applications

The NVR-104SET is designed to set up a video
surveillance system via a computer network. It con-
sists of a recorder with an integrated hard disk
(another hard disk can be built in additionally) and
two cameras of type VNC-1040. The set can be
completed to up to four cameras. For outdoor
installation the weatherproof VNC-1044 is avail-
able. The recorder and the cameras can be con-
nected via Ethernet to a local computer network or,
e. g. via a router, to larger computer networks
(Internet). The cameras can alternatively be inte-
grated into a WLAN network for wireless transmis-
sion. For correct installation, knowledge of network
technology is indispensable.
The recorder offers different facilities for control-
ling the recording (time-controlled, event-controlled,
continuously) and for evaluating events (e. g. by e-
mail message). The user interface allows easy
operation in case of live surveillance (including
communication via the audio inputs and outputs of
the cameras), recording and reproduction.
This short instruction manual offers assistance
for setting the recorder into operation in connection
with the cameras and provides basic information
for the operation. Detailed information about the
versatile configuration facilities and operating facil-
ities of the recorder are included in the detailed
English documentation (NVR Basic Series) on the
supplied CD. The cameras are provided with sepa-
rate instructions.
