4.5 Activating the user interface

To register the cameras at the recorder, to make
further settings and to operate the recorder, call the
user interface of the recorder via a computer which
is likewise connected to the network. For this pur-
pose, enter the IP address of the recorder in the
address line of the program Windows Internet
Explorer (IE).
The computer system used should meet the fol-
lowing minimum requirements:

When calling the recorder, first the log-in window
appears in which the user name and the password
have to be entered. The preset for both inputs is
"admin". Individual log-in data can later be defined
in the recorder settings (
For the first connection set-up via the IE, the IE
downloads the required extensions (ActiveX con-
trol elements) from the recorder and installs them
on the computer. If necessary, the safety settings of
the IE must be eased in such a way that this pro-
cedure is admitted.
The user interface starts with the main view
(fig. 18). These instructions refer to the English ver-
sion. The language of the user interface can sepa-
rately be defined for each user in the settings for
the user accounts (

4.6 Registering cameras

1) Integrate the cameras into the existing computer
network ( instructions of the cameras).
2) Call the page "NVR setup ± Channel Configura-
tion ± Channel Setting" in the recorder settings.
3) Click the button "Search" in the network to
search the first camera. (When activating this
function for the first time, it may be necessary to
have an additional program extension installed.
A corresponding message is shown.)

Mark the desired camera in the list of the cam-
eras found and click "Configure". The camera
name, its IP address and port number now
appear in the fields under "Add New Channel:".
Alternatively, the IP address, port number and
the desired name of the camera can also manu-
ally be entered into the fields.

4) Select the desired channel number (Channel ID:
1 – 4) from the list and enter the user name and
the password for the access to the camera.
5) Click the button "Detect". The present settings
are now downloaded from the camera and
