Use of the programming feature

In the factory the amplitude and offset of the Sin/Cos signals from the MiniCODER
are programmed for the type-specific air gap and are ready to use.
Mechanical tolerances on the spindle's attachment surface or slight installation errors
can be corrected by subsequent programming using the testing and programming
unit GEL 211.
However, such a programming of the signals after the installation of the MiniCODER
in the spindle should only be undertaken if it is ensured the MiniCODER has been
carefully installed: Air gap correct, no tilting or twisting
The feature for re-programming is not intended to be used to correct
extreme errors on signals due to incorrect installation.
As a consequence internal control parameters could enter a border
area where it is no longer possible to compensate for mechanical
changes that occur during the operation of the spindle.
Should such incorrect programming have been undertaken, the
MiniCODER can be reset to the factory setting using the testing and
programming unit.
Should a check at Lenord + Bauer be requested on a MiniCODER
that is not operating as expected, the check here can only be
made with factory setting.

If the configuration saved in the MiniCODER does not match the design of the target
wheel, malfunctions may occur.
On the usage of a target wheel with characteristics different to those saved in the fac-
tory settings the configuration of the MiniCODER must be changed using the testing
and programming unit.
 Use the testing and programming unit to check whether the "number of teeth" and
"application" saved in the MiniCODER match the design of the target wheel.
If the maximum rotational speed of the MiniCODER does not match the maximum
rotational speed of the target wheel, malfunctions may occur.
