7.7 Expression by single pumping

Prepare one pump set for expression.
Place the membrane cap at the end of
the tubing onto the membrane in the
pump housing (see also chapter 6.6).
Wipe the breast with a warm cloth (do
not use alcohol).

When expression is finished, place
the bottle in the stand or bottle
holder. This is to prevent the bottle
from tipping over.

Place the breast shield on the breast so that
the nipple is properly centred in the tunnel.
Hold the breast shield onto the breast with
the thumb and index finger. Support the
breast with the palm of the hand.

Close the bottle with a lid or a lid and
disc (depending on the bottle type).
To store the breast milk, follow the
instructions in chapter 8.
