For your safety
grilles or hob covers may be used. The
use of unsuitable hob grilles or hob cov-
ers may lead to accidents.
Do not cover the appliance with blan-
kets, cloths or similar, as these objects
may become hot and catch fi re.
If the cooling fan is defective, the ap-
pliance can quickly overheat. This can
damage the hob further and fl ammable
objects adjacent to the appliance may
catch fi re. In this case, switch off the hob
immediately and disconnect the mains
plug!
Risk of burns!
The cooking zones heat up during opera-
tion along with the hot cookware and will
remain hot after they are switched off; this
is shown by the residual heat indicator.
Caution in the event of a power cut: re-
sidual heat may not be indicated.
You must take care in order to avoid
touching the heating elements. Always
protect hands with oven gloves or pot-
holders when working on the hot appli-
ance. Only use dry oven gloves or pot-
holders. Wet textiles are better heat
conductors and can cause steam burns.
Children aged 8 years or younger must
be kept away from the appliance, unless
they are under constant supervision.
Always switch off the hob completely
after use! Never rely solely on the auto-
matic pot recognition.
Do not leave the hob unattended during
use.
Do not place any metal objects such
as cutlery and lids on the hob, because
these will also heat up and may cause
burns.
Never sit or place objects on the hob.
Allow the hob to cool completely before
cleaning and disconnect the mains plug.
Exception: Remove sugary or starchy
contaminants, plastic or aluminium foil
from the hot glass ceramic immediate-
ly using a standard sharp blade scraper.
While doing so protect hands from burns
with oven gloves or potholders.
The cookware handles can become hot
during cooking.
Use oven gloves or potholders to protect
against burns.
Ensure that the cookware is out of reach
of children.
Ensure that the pan handles do not pro-
ject over other cooking zones.
Health hazard!
Acrylamide may be carcinogenic. Acryla-
mide is produced when starch is exposed
to excessive heat, e.g. in potatoes (fries,
chips), biscuits, toast, bread etc.
Keep cooking times as short as possible.
Only brown the food slightly, do not al-
low it to brown too much.
When frying potatoes using raw potato
discs or frying potato fritters in a frying
pan, it is better to use margarine (with
a minimum fat content of 80 %) or oil
with a little margarine instead of pure
oil.
The hob generates a magnetic fi eld that
could disrupt medical implants.
Ask your doctor about the effects on im-
plants e.g. pacemakers or defi brillators.
