Fundamental advice

The assembly and operating instructions are an important part of the delivery and are ad-
dressed to specialists installing, operating, or servicing the motor drive. The document provides
information on the product and its safe use.
Please read the instructions thoroughly and pay particular attention to the advisory

notes concerning safety.
Keep the instructions for later reference.
º œ
• Reliable functioning and the prevention of risk and damage are only achieved through
accurate assembly and setting according to the instructions.
• Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge accepts no liability in case of improperly per-
formed mounting and installation.
After removing the packaging, check whether the appliance is complete and intact.
º œ
Plastic bags as well as small parts, such as staples, etc. must not be left
within the reach of children. They represent potential danger sources.

General safety advice

It is absolutely essential to observe the following safety instructions.
Additional instructions in the further sections of the manual are clearly identified by the symbols
referred to above.
Ensure that assembly, installation, and initial commissioning of the equipment are car-
º œ
ried out by trained and qualified persons only.
Observe all regulations and directives applicable at the place of installation, such as
º œ
• Directives for safety at work,
• Accident prevention regulations,
• Regulations concerning electrical and electronic engineering (e.g., VDE directives), DIN/
EN standards,
• Directive BGR 232 for power-operated windows, doors and shutters of the German
employer's liability insurance association (ask Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge for
a copy, if necessary),
• Instruction sheet KB.01 of the German association of window and facade manufacturers
(VFF) concerning power-operated windows (ask Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge
for a copy, if necessary).
The motor may only be used if it is in full technical working order and for the purpose

intended; it must be handled in a safety-conscious way with due regard to dangers, and
in accordance with the Assembly and Operating Instructions.
Attach safety devices, such as safety catches or security stays correctly and ensure that
º œ
they work properly. Verify if the opening distance of the catching device is sufficiently
large to match the travel of the drive.
Use only original spare parts, original accessories and original fastening materials from
º œ
Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge.
Fastening material must be compatible with the structure and supplemented if required.
º œ
It is important to always ensure that your system complies with the prevailing regula-
º œ
tions. Special attention must be paid to window opening width, permitted installation
dimensions, opening speed, pushing force, connecting cable cross section as a function
of the cable length, and to current consumption.
The drive is designed for use in dry rooms only. The drive must be protected against dirt
and humidity.
