3. The integrated joints enable the sanding head to
follow the contours of the work surface.
4. The best technique is to use overlapping sanding
tracks while keeping the sanding head in constant
motion. Never linger too long at one place in
order to avoid spiral sanding marks. As you gain
experience, it will be easier to achieve excellent
results.
NOTE: Make sure that the utilised san-
ding medium is suitable for the particular
application. Overly coarse grit may result
in uncontrolled stock removal. In contrast,
overly fine grit will clog too often and result in
insufficient stock removal.
WARNING: Avoid contact with pointed
objects, nails, etc. Such objects ruin the
sanding medium and may even damage
the foam hook-and-loop sanding pad.

MAINTENANCE

Clean the wall and ceiling sander re-
gularly.
Regularly blow out all air passages with
dry compressed air. Clean all plastic parts
with a soft, damp cloth. NEVER clean
plastic parts with solvents. Solvents can
dissolve or otherwise damage the material.
Wear safety goggles while working with compressed
air.
Clean the swivel connector of the vacuum
cleaner, as too much dust will prevent it from
turning freely.

CARBON BRUSHES

Carbon brushes are wear parts and must be replaced
when they reach their wear limit.
NOTE: Have the carbon brushes checked
and replaced by a qualified STORCH cu-
stomer service centre.
Replace the carbon brushes when worn down to 7
mm. To inspect or replace brushes, first unplug the
tool. Carefully remove the 6 screws on the right side
and 1 screw on the left side to remove the right and
left covers. When this is done, the swivel connector
of the vacuum cleaner will also come off. Remove
the 2 screws holding on the speed control unit (11) to
allow access to the carbon brush screws (17). Unscrew
the 2 carbon brush holders and remove the carbon
brushes.
NOTE: When inserting the carbon brushes
into the carbon brush holders it is essen-
tial that both flanges go back inside the
holder.
NOTE: To reinsert the same brushes, first
make sure the brushes go back in the way
they came out. Otherwise a break-in period
will occur that will reduce motor perfor-
mance and increase brush wear.
For the replacement, follow the disassembly instruc-
tions in the reverse order. Insert the brush holder screws
and then the speed control screws. When replacing
the 2 halves of the handle cover, make sure that all
cables are in place an are not squeezed in during the
assembly. We recommend having the tool thoroughly
cleaned and lubricated at an authorised service centre
at least once a year.
