2.5.1.1
Important advice on activating
the pantographs with the digital
system:
• Before activating the pantographs
for the first time, you must make
sure that they are no longer fixed
in the lower position (=> page 20).
• Once the pantographs have been
released, they jump into the upper
position. For the digital system,
however, the lower setting still
applies at this time. You should
therefore synchronise the switch
indication with the actual setting by
actuating the functions f1 and f2.
• The pantographs must only be
activated when not moving.
• Wait until the pantograph has
reached its upper or lower end
position before starting the move-
ment in the opposite direction.
• Although the pantographs are
designed to carry current, the
locomotive cannot be powered
via the overhead wire in digital
operation because, when the pan-
tographs are switched to the lower
position, the locomotive no longer
has a connection to the operating
system and thus cannot function
any longer.
• Before being transported, the
pantographs must first be brought
into the upper position via the
switching function and then fixed
manually in the lower position.
2.5.2 Operating the locomotive
with Delta
To operate the locomotive with Märklin
Delta you use the Delta-Mobil to sel-
ect the address, that has been set on
the former. The locomotive will run
forward when you turn the speed
control knob to the right of the center
position. Turning the speed control
knob to the left of the center position
will cause the locomotive to run in
reverse. The headlights change
direction with the direction of travel
and are on all of the time. The
maximum power output of the
Delta-Station is sufficient to operate
2 to a maximum of 3 single motor
locomotives at the same time.

Operation
The front pantograph is always
extended in operation with the
Märklin Delta-Station. It can be fixed
manually in the lower position. The
rear pantograph together with the
front pantograph can be extended
permanently by rearranging jumper 1
on the control electronics. In this
case, however, the two pantographs
will always react together to the f1
function, even in digital mode. The
operating noise can be activated
manually. All other functions (horn etc.)
are switched off.
