Important:
All of the Märklin central units with
the Motorola transmission format can
be used to run this locomotive. The
full range of functions is only available
with the 6021 Control-Unit 6021.
Functions f1 through f4 cannot be
activated if you are using the earlier
Central-Unit 6020 or a similar version.
The indicator for direction of travel is
also not present on these units.
The coding switches on the back of
the 6021 Control-Unit must be set as
follows for trouble free operation:

Operating the locomotive with the
6021 Control-Unit:
Entering the locomotive address.
Turning the speed control knob to
the right to the stop increases the
locomotive's speed. Turning the
speed control knob to the left to the
"0" setting decreases the locomoti-
ve's speed.
Important:
There will be a delay in the locomoti-
ve's reaction to each change in
speed, depending on how you have
set the acceleration/braking delay.
Turning the speed control knob to
the left past the "0" setting: Reverses
the locomotive's direction of travel.

off
Important:
On the 6021 Control-Unit two arrows
to the right of the address display
indicate the direction of travel for the
locomotive.
Arrow pointing up:
Locomotive runs forward.
Arrow pointing down:
Locomotive runs in reverse.
Pressing the "function" button:
Turns the headlights on.
Pressing the "off" button:
Turns the headlights off.
Press the "f1" key:
The front pantograph is extended.
For this to happen, the pantograph
must not be fixed in position for
transport (=> page 20). Press the "f1"
key again to retract the pantographs
again. It is essential that you follow
the additional advice on page 25.
Press the "f2" key:
The rear pantograph is extended.
The functional sequence is the same
as for f1. Follow the advice on page 25.
Pressing button "f3":
Turns the sound of a horn on. Now
quickly turn this function off by pres-
sing button "f3" again! Otherwise, it
can lead to malfunctions.
Pressing the "f4" button:
Pressing it once reduces to a mini-
mum the acceleration/braking delay
that has been set. Advantage: When
switching cars there is not a delay in
the locomotive reacting to changes
in the setting of the speed control
knob. Pressing the "f4" button a
second time restores the original
acceleration/braking delay.
