episodes of incontinence, always use it in conjunction with a liquid-repellent cover.
Only use the official Ottobock incontinence barriers for this product. These barriers have

been optimised for maximum pressure redistribution in the wheelchair cushion. Contact your
therapist or specialist dealer to obtain a spare Ottobock cover.
4 Delivery

4.1 Scope of delivery

The product is delivered preinstalled. The scope of delivery includes:

5 Preparation for use

INFORMATION
► The procedures described in this section may not be carried out by the user of the product.
► These instructions for use must be given to the user along with the seat cushion.
5.1 Positioning
1) Place the cushion into the seat with the 'REAR' label facing the back of the wheelchair (see
fig. 5).
2) The flat surface of the cushion should be facing down and the contoured surface should be
facing up.
3) The hook-and-loop strap sewn to the cushion is designed to be fastened to the corresponding
straps found on most wheelchair seats to allow the cushion to be secured in place.
5.2 Setting Up
1) Place the wheelchair cushion on the chair, making sure it is centred and the right way up. The
valve must be located in the front right corner (see fig. 8).
2) Turn the valve anti-clockwise to open (see fig. 9).
3) Attach the flexible hose of the pump to the valve (see fig. 10).
4) Inflate the cushion until it begins to arch upwards slightly (see fig. 11).
5) Close the air valve by twisting in a clockwise direction and then disconnect the pump from the
valve (see fig. 12).
6) Lower the user down carefully on to the wheelchair seat cushion. The cushion must be
centred below the user.
INFORMATION: Ensure the individual is sitting in the desired sitting position.
7) Slide your hand palm down between the cushion surface and the user's buttocks (see
fig. 13).
INFORMATION: You should be able to feel the ischial tuberosity.
