5-5-2. Segmented Error Compensation

In this compensation, the segments are determined, and mechanical error is compensated for each segment.
This is only effective in cases where you use a measuring unit with a reference point.
The segmented error compensation is set using the process below.

When the segmented error compensation value is set, the unit automatically switches to reference point
acquisition mode after the detailed settings are finished, the power is turned on, or an error is reset. (See Part
7-2-9, "Reference Point Mode (How to Use the Measuring Unit with a Reference Point)".)
Measurement of machine precision
To perform the segmented error compensation, measurement is made to find the amount of error and where
it occurs on the machine. Be sure to measure the error amount with the reference point position of the
measuring unit at 0.

The precision can be measured based on the measuring unit standard or laser standard. The measuring unit
standard is more accurate, and so measurement of the measuring unit standard is recommended.
