to 600 V DC or V AC rms max. in Overvoltage Category 1, or 300 V
AC rms / DC max. in Overvoltage Category 2. Take particular care
when dealing with voltages greater than 25 V AC or 35 V DC.
Never exceed the maximum input levels, because
otherwise damage to the measuring instrument can
endanger life.
d) Putting into operation
Basic settings
The measuring instrument is switched on by turning the rotary
switch away from the "OFF" position. After approx. 15 minutes
without measurement (inactivity), the measuring instrument
automatically switches itself off. The measuring instrument can be
switched on again by means of the "HOLD POWER" button in the
centre of the rotary switch.
e) Socket configuration
The eight pin transistor connector is marked symmetrically. While
switched off, plug the transistor connections (B) base, (E) emitter
and (C) collector as indicated into the connector sockets. Take the
pin configuration for the various transistors from a transistor refe-
rence book.

f) Measuring function switch = rotary switch
The rotary switch must on no account be moved
while connected with the circuit being measured, as
this can damage the measuring instrument and as
a result the life of the user may be endangered in
the case of voltages greater than 25 V AC rms or
35 V DC
Clockwise, the following measurements are possible:
A =
= DC current (5 ranges, 400 µA to 10A)
hFE
= Transistor hFE parameter testing
V =
= DC voltage with automatic range-switching
V ~
= AC voltage with automatic range-switching
->I-
= Diode test
OHM
= Resistance measurement with automatic range-
switching
•)
= symbol for acoustic continuity test
A ~
= AC current (5 ranges, 400 µA to 10A)
g) Data "HOLD"
When the "Hold" button in the centre of the rotary switch is pres-
sed, the present measurement indication is 'frozen'. To quit this
subfunction, press the "Hold" button once again, after which the
measurement is released once more.
