General Safety Precautions
Disconnect the plug before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the sander. This safety measure will
prevent the tool from starting accidentally.
Keep unused sanders out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons who are not familiar with the sander or who have
not read these instructions to use it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Take good care of the "Spider" wall and ceiling sander and duly service it.
Before using the sander, inspect it for possible damages. Have damaged parts repaired before using the tool. Many acci-
dents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Only use the "Spider" wall and ceiling sander and its accessories for the intended purpose.
Support
Only have your tool repaired by qualified staff at authorised customer service centres and using original replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Specific safety rules

1. Keep hands away from rotating sanding head area at all times!
2. Prolonged breathing of airborne dust from drywall sanding may effect respiratory function:
Always use a vacuum cleaner with a suitable bag. Always use a respiratory mask that is suitable and approved for
dust.
3. Sanding of LEAD-BASED paints is extremely toxic. Allow only specially trained professionals to perform such
tasks.
4. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Do not overreach. Use proper scaffolding.
5. Always wear appropriate safety equipment when operating.
6. IMPORTANT
After sanding, switch the sander off with the on/off switch and wait for the sanding pad to stop completely before
putting the tool down.
7. Never operate the sander near flammable solids, liquids, or gases. Sparks from the commutator/carbon brushes can
cause fire or explosion.
8. The sander is designed for specific purposes. The manufacturer expressly recommends not to modify this power tool
and/or not to use it any way except for the intended purpose. If you have any questions concerning the purpose, do
NOT USE the tool until you have consulted the manufacturer.
9. Use the machine with both hands at all times. Loss of control can cause personal injury.
10. Keep power supply cord clear from the working range of the machine. Always lead the cable away behind you.
11. Immediately switch off the machine if unusual vibrations or if other malfunctions occur. Check the device in order to
find out the cause.
12. The dust that arises when working with this tool can be harmful to health. Always use a vacuum cleaner and a suitable
dust mask, and remove accumulated dust with a vacuum cleaner.
