Automatic Analysis with the Rondolino

Automatic Analysis with the Rondolino

Before each titration, please ensure that all titration beakers are correctly placed on the sample rack! Otherwise
all activities (dosing, pumping, stirring, etc.) will not be properly executed. Risk of corrosion.

Before each titration, ensure that all movable parts on the Rondolino cannot be blocked! Otherwise all activities
(dosing, pumping, stirring, etc.) will not be properly executed. Risk of corrosion.

During operation, always press <RESET> or <F5>, [HOLD], first on the titrator and then the stop pump key
sion
on the Rondolino before changing anything on the sample changer! This ensures that all activities (dosing,
pumping, stirring, etc.) are interrupted. Risk of corrosion.
Because the analysis runs automatically on the Rondolino, there are a few points you need to be aware of during an
analysis with the Rondolino:
• After you have installed and set up the Rondolino and the titrator correctly, you can place the samples on the rack and begin
with the analysis (also see Quick Guide and Reference Handbook of the titrator).
• At the beginning of an analysis and after the last sample, the elements attached to the titration head are dipped into the con-
ditioning beaker.
• You begin a sample series by pressing the <RUN> key or <F5>, [OK], on the titrator. The Rondolino changes the samples
automatically.
Note:
After the beginning of a series and as soon as the [CURRENT SAMPLE] screen appears (see illustration), the <F5>
key, [OK], and <RUN> may no longer be pressed! Otherwise a RESET is performed, the analysis is interrupted
and the Rondolino returns to its basic position (position 0).

Exception: If you enter sample data on the titrator, change the stirring speed or press the <RESULTS> key during
an analysis, the Rondolino will stop after the next change of sample. Without continuing the analysis, the [CUR-
RENT SAMPLE] screen appears. In just this case, the <RUN> key or <F5>, [OK], must be pressed to continue
the analysis.
• The method always begins with the sample in position 1. Up to nine samples can be analyzed in a sample series. The
samples of a series are analyzed in sequence from 1 to 9.
• After a single analysis, or at the end of a series, the titration head is "parked" in the conditioning beaker (position 0). If you
also need to condition within a defined time frame after the last sample, the titration head must remain "parked" for the desired
time before the next sample series can be started.
• Two light emitting diodes indicate the status of the instrument: green = the Rondolino is switched on; red = error message.
• As soon as a method is interrupted, e.g., by pressing the <RESET> key, the titration head and the sample rack are moved
back to position 0 on the sample rack.
Note:
Please note that restarting the method will begin analysis at position 1 on the sample rack again!
• Function of the stop pump key: If you wish to interrupt a method, for which a rinsing program has been selected on the
Rondolino (program 1+2 or 6-9), you must also stop the pump on the Rondolino. For this, after pressing the <RESET> key
on the titrator, also press the stop pump key on the Rondolino until pumping stops and the Rondolino returns to its basic
position (sample rack and titration head in position 0).
