Extraordinary maintenance of the aspiration system fitted
with Turbo-Smart
• Electrical shock risk: also 230 V can be lethal.
• Biological danger, risk of infections from epidemic diseases.
• High temperature.
• The extraordinary maintenance must be entrusted to an engineer in possession of
original spare parts, the work must be carried out periodically with a frequency based
on the work load of the surgery.
• The recommended engineer must train the surgery staff (according to the instructions
of this manual) and make sure that the ordinary maintenance is carried out carefully
and methodically using Magnolia products (the manufacturer will not consider under
warranty machines which have been treated with other products.
• The fi rst intervention of extraordinary maintenance must be carried out after three months
fron the installation of the machine; afterwards an extraordinary maintenance every six
months can be enough provided that ordinary maintenance is carried out carefully.
• On the occasion of every maintenance intervention it is necessary to wear: gloves,
glasses, half mask respirator and disposable apron. The aspirated liquid is infected and
possibly carrying disease pathogens. Please note that the liquid inside hoses A12 and
B12 is under pressure: this particularly increases the biological risk.
• Any intervention on the machine must be preceded by a series of washes with Puli-Jet
and hot water using Pulse Cleaner.
• Isolate from the mains supply before maintenance.
• First control: check the tightening of the terminals inside the electric control panel.
• First control: according to the instructions of the "AC80" program (page 21), visualize
on the display all information about working, causes of working anomalies such as:
maximum registered temperatures, maximum registered amperage, irregular supply
voltage of the condensers, high amalgam level, will have to be eliminated.
• On occasion of any intervention: check that the fi lters on the dentist's units and the H4
fi lter on Turbo-Smart are clean.
• Every six months: drain the liquids which are inside the Hydrocyclon as follows: loosen
screw E12, turn on valve D11, take out the upper part A11, check that the inner chamber
B11 is clean and check that the 5 holes are clear.
• Every six months: drain the liquids which are inside the centrifugal separator C5 as
follows: disconnect the hose from the hole holder F4, collect with a small bowl the
residual liquids (these liquids, which have not been treated by the amalgam separator,
probably still contain amalgam particles and must be aspirated when the machine is
reassembled), remove the base B4, check the conditions of the fan C5 of the centrifugal
separator, replace the parts which are frayed or damaged. If these parts are very dirty
or crusted it is recommended to check the cleaning regime, the times and the products
used for ordinary maintenance.
• Once a year check the shaft of the recircle valve C4 and replace it in case of wear. We
recommend to replace also the rubber part of the same valve and to replace once a
year the draining valves D4 and A5 together with all the sealing "O" rings.
• We recommend replacing once a year the whole piping, especially hoses under pres-
sure A12 and B12.
• Once you have checked the machine and reassembled the parts, test the working of
the machine.
• Every fi ve years replace the bearings placed on the aspirating unit and on the centrifugal
separator.
