4.3.1
Rinsing Cassettes
Before using a cassette, it is recommended to rinse it with 10 liters of deionized
water, buffers or physiological saline solution.
Set the inlet pressure (P

Limit the retentate outlet enough so that the ratio of permeate flow to retentate

flow is 1:1.
Reduce the permeate and retentate flows.

After approx. one-third of the rinsing agent has been used, stop rinsing for

15 minutes and then continue to rinse again.
4.3.2
Integrity Test
Each cassette is fully tested at Sartorius. It is therefore recommended that no other
integrity test be carried out on-site.
4.4 Information about Complaints
If you would like to send cassettes to Sartorius Stedim Biotech for review, please
ensure the following:
− that the cassettes have been completely cleaned;
− that the cassettes have been disinfected;
− that the cassettes are provided with the following information:
− the medium that was filtered using the cassettes;
− any errors that were observed;
− the operating parameters in use at the time of filtration (pressure settings,
operating time, process cycles, cleaning conditions, operating temperature);
− cleaning method used;
− disinfecting agent used.
