Operation

Drill bit sharpening

NOTE
Pre-sand heavily damaged drill bits first
roughly on a bench grinder.
Fully lower the sharpening stone. To do this, turn
the rotary switch
direction DOWN ▼.
Insert the drill bit in the smallest appropriate drill
guide
on the drill bit sharpener. The exact
sizes (Ø) of the respective drill guides
specified on the labels (3 to 10 mm).
Press the ON/OFF switch
to switch the appliance on.
Then turn the rotary switch
UP ▲ until you hear a grinding noise.
NOTE
You can use the rotary switch
position of the sharpening stone and thus the
contact pressure of the stone against the drill
bit. The further you turn the rotary switch
in the direction UP ▲, the higher the contact
pressure becomes. Ensure that you do not
turn the sharpening stone too far upwards.
Otherwise, the sharpening stone might hit the
housing.
Use low pressure to turn the drill bit lightly
and quickly between the left and right stops
approximately 10 times (approx. 5 times for
smaller drill bits).

Pull the drill bit out slightly, turn it by 180°
(horizontally) and insert it back in as far as the
sharpening stone.
If necessary, repeat the entire process until both
cutting edges are sharp. Carry out the grind
so that the angle ( ) between the two cutting
edges (b) is 118°. Both cutting edges (b) must
have the same angle to the drill axis (a) and
be equal in length to ensure that the drill runs
centred (see following illustrations).
Press the ON/OFF switch
to switch the appliance off.
