Operating Instructions
The P5/16R+, P5/20R+ and P9/16R+ tubular drives are designed exclusively for the operation of roller shutters. In addition
to spring suspension of the curtain, P5/16R+, P5/20R+ and P9/16R+ also support mechanical locking straps, for example
Zurfl uh-Feller, Simu, GAH Alberts or Deprat. These are recognised automatically. Please note the different positions for the
end limits of the various curtain suspensions (locking strap or spring).
Only use screws of type EJOT Delta PT 40x12 WN 5454 Torx (9900 000 545 4) to fi x the connectors to the P5/16R+, P5/20R+
and P9/16R+ motor.
Other applications are only permitted with Becker's prior consent, for reasons of product liability.
If the controls and drives are used for other purposes than those specifi ed above, or if modifi cations are made to the equip-
ment which affect the safety of the system, the manufacturer or supplier will not accept any liability for injuries to people or
damage to property, nor for any consequential damages.

Before starting work the installer must make sure that the brickwork and roller
shutter box are strong enough (to cope with the torque of the drive plus the
weight of the shutter).
Caution
Electrical connections should only be performed by a quali-
fi ed electrician. Disconnect the mains supply before installa-
tion. Please give the attached information on electrical con-
nections to the responsible electrician.
1. Determine the lateral space requirement (M) of the head piece, the limit
switch collar and the motor bracket, in order to calculate the required
length of the barrel. The clear dimension of the roller shutter casing (X) mi-
nus the total length from the wall bracket, head piece (M) and limit switch
collar (G) gives the length (L) of the barrel:
L = X- (G + M).
Measure the distance from the wall bracket and the connecting head itself,
as these may vary depending on the combination of drive and bracket.
2. Fix the wall bracket and limit switch collar.
If roller shutters with locking straps are used, the wall bracket and limit
switch collar must be fi xed permanently to the wall and secured against
lifting/pushing up. Only use suitable brackets and lath for this.
Please observe the following points when installing the drive:
• Installation of drive adaptor with drive adaptor safety catch on
drives P5/16R+, P5/20R+ and P9/16R+
The feed direction of the drive adaptor safety catch is preset by its shape.
When inserting the drive adaptor safety catch, make sure that the locking
lug engages. You can tell by an audible click. Check that the catch is se-
curely located by pulling on the drive adaptor (Fig. 3).
3. Before fi tting in the barrel, take the measurement from barrel end to the
centre of the drive adapter and mark on the barrel (Fig. 4).
• For profi le tubes:
For some drive adapters, tolerances of the channel widths in different
roller tubes can be balanced by turning the drive adapter in a different
channel slot. These channel slots come in different sizes and make it an
exact fi t possible when the drive is installed (Fig. 5).
• For round tubes:
Release the tube from the motor died in advance, so that the
cam of the ring can also be inserted into the tube. The cam of
the ring must not engage with the tube. For rings without pull-
ing cams, the roller tube must be connected to the ring by a
4.8 x 10 mm sheet-metal screw (Fig. 6).
