with a backlight compensation and an automatic white
balance (range 2400 K to 11 000 K).
The cameras TVCCD-162S and TVCCD-166SCOL
are suitable for infrared. TVCCD-166SCOL has a day/
night function, i. e. if the brightness falls below 2 lux,
the camera is automatically switched to black-and-
white display.
4 Mounting
1) Mount the supplied bracket or, if required, another
bracket with 6.3 mm (

2) Release the locking screw/locking nut (7) of the
bracket so that the threaded bolt (4) is freely
movable and can be screwed into one of the two
thread jacks (2) on the camera by means of the
knurled nut (5). If the picture is displayed upside
down after setting the camera into operation, use
the other thread jack. Due to the cylindrical shape
of the camera, it is not possible to know beforehand
which way the camera must be mounted.
3) Coarsely align the camera and fix it by fastening the
locking screw / locking nut (7). Precise alignment is
not possible until the camera is set into operation.
4) Place the sunshield, if required, and screw it down.
In case of ceiling suspension, it is also possible to
use the 6.3 mm thread of the sunshield for
fastening the camera to the bracket.
5 Setting the Camera into Operation
1) Connect the cable (3) of the camera to the jack TO
CAMERA (14) of the power supply unit. The length
of the cable is 30 m. In case of a high-quality cable,
the maximum length may be 500 m:

The MONACOR cable VCC-59 is suitable for a
maximum length of 350 m.
2) Connect the video output VIDEO OUT TO MONI-
TOR (13) of the power supply unit via a 75 Ω
coaxial cable to the video input jack of the monitor
or a camera switcher or video splitter. Observe the
correct 75 Ω termination.
3) Connect the plug of the mains cable (10) to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz) and switch on the power
supply unit with the POWER switch (9). The power
LED (8) will light up.

4) Switch on the connected monitor as well, then pre-
cisely align the camera to the surveillance zone. If
the picture is displayed upside down, turn the
camera by 180° before mounting it.
5) If required, modify the video output level by means
of the four sliding switches VIDEO GAIN ADJ. (12)
on the rear side of the power supply unit (see table
below). This will compensate cable loss due to a
long connection cable between the camera and the
power supply unit.
