holes of the motherboard. Otherwise the motherboard will be damaged by short
circuit.
• Now configure the jumpers on drives and hard disks (for IDE devices "master" and
"slave" respectively) before installing them. Screw on each drive using 4 screws,
observing the correct screw type and length.
With front access bays (5.25" and 3.5"), the metal shielding behind the plastic
cover has to be removed first. Simply bend them back and forth a few times and
remove them afterwards. Mind your fingers, the metal parts have very sharp
edges!
Only remove the metal shielding of a bay you really need!
Connect each drive to the correct connector of the ATX power unit and connect
the drives to the motherboard using the relevant matching cable (IDE/floppy).
Observe the correct orientation of the cables (pin 1 has always to be connected to
pin 1)!
• Now insert the plug-in cards into the matching motherboard slots. Check whether
they fit in well and screw in the plug-in cards.
• Connect the ATX motherboard with the ATX connector of the ATX power unit.
Ensure that the ATX connector is attached correctly.
Warning!
It is possible to force the ATX connector onto the motherboard
connector the wrong way around! The ATX connector has to slide on
smoothly and then snap in exactly at the side with the clip.
• Connect the ATX push-button (power push-button) on the front panel of the ATX
case to the matching motherboard connector. Hereby, please observe the instruc-
tions of your motherboard.
The same applies to power LED, reset push-button, HDD LED and the loudspeaker.
• Again check all connectors whether they fit in well!
The electric cables in the interior of the ATX case have to be laid accurately. They
must never be bent or even damaged! Owing to the sharp edged in the ATX case
the electric cables are easily damaged, especially if the computer is often trans-
ported.
Use special plastic protective angles at problematic locations.
For the purpose of bundling the cables and for ease of laying, cable straps come in
very handy.

• Placez les cartes d'extension dans les emplacements correspondants de la carte
mère, contrôlez le placement correct et vissez les cartes d'extension.
• Connectez la carte mère ATX à la fiche de contact ATX du bloc d'alimentation ATX.
Assurez-vous que la fiche est raccordée dans le bon sens.
Attention!
En forçant, vous arriveriez à enfoncer la prise de courant ATX dans le
mauvais sens sur la carte mère ! Mais il ne faut pas avoir à forcer :
dans le bon sens, la fiche ATX se laisse facilement enficher de maniè-
re à ce qu'il soit aisé d'encliqueter le clip verrouillant le raccordement
sur le côté.
• Connectez la touche ATX (Touche"Power") située à l'avant du capot ATX au bran-
chement correspondant de la carte mère. Tenez compte du mode d'emploi fourni
avec votre carte mère. Même chose pour le voyant Power, la touche Reset, le
voyant HDD et le haut-parleur.
• Contrôlez à nouveau le positionnement correct de toutes les fiches ! Les câbles
d'alimentation doivent être correctement installés, ils ne doivent ni être pliés ni
endommagés! Faites attention à ne pas endommager non plus les fils électriques
sur les arêtes vives se trouvant à l'intérieur du capot ATX, surtout si vous transpor-
tez votre ordinateur très souvent.
Protégez les endroits exposés aux arêtes dangereuses, par des listeaux spéciaux
en plastique par exemple. Nous vous recommandons l'utilisation de colliers auto-
bloquants très appropriés pour lier les fils électriques en faisceaux et faciliter leur
installation.
Truc: Ne liez pas de faisceaux avec les câbles DIE ou SCSI à l'intérieur du
PC. Des réflexions de signaux pourraient entraîner des problèmes lors
de la transmission de données (par ex. diminution de la vitesse etc.).
• Revissez le capot ATX après avoir terminé toutes les installations.
• Au cas où un interrupteur de tension se trouverait sur le dos du bloc d'alimentati-
on ATX, celui-ci doit être dans la position "230" (vous pouvez lire l'inscription
"230"; l'interrupteur coulissant doit se trouver dans sa position finale).
• Raccordez tous les périphériques, par ex. clavier, souris, écran VGA et haut-par-
leurs pour PC.
