8.5 Commissioning

1. Check that all screw connections are tight.
2. Check air channel for dirt and clean if
necessary.
3. Check that connection data matches tech-
nical data on the unit (rating plate  unit
 instructions envelope).
DANGER
Danger to life from electric shock.
 After mounting/removing the protective
grille, check it for firm seating and perform
a PE conductor test.
4. Remove protection against switching back
on and switch on mains fuse.
5. Run function test. Check direction of rota-
tion and air flow and if necessary swap the
cable connections over. Check and ensure
that the impeller runs quietly. It is also
important that the air can flow unhindered.
6. Switch off unit.

9. Maintenance

The unit is maintenance-free.

10. Fault rectification

● Call on the services of a trained electrician
any time there is a fault. Troubleshooting
and repairs are only permissible when
carried out by a qualified electrician.
● Unit may be energized even when at a
standstill and may be switched on
automatically by sensors (time delay,
humidity etc.).
CAUTION
Danger of burning through an over-
heated motor, in the case of a fault.
Let the device cool down sufficiently before
working in the area of the motor. Only then
remove the protective grille [1].

CAUTION
Exercise caution when the unit is at a
standstill/when it has been switched off
due to overload. The unit can start up
again automatically after it has cooled
off. Before working on the fan, switch off
the mains fuse, secure the fan against
being accidentally switched back on and
position a warning sign.
Fault Cause, measure
Fan does not No mains voltage.
switch on.
Check whether the mains
fuse has failed. Switch on if
necessary.
EZQ.. and EZS.. units:
Motor's thermal
overload If the fan motor overheats,
protection the thermal overload
switches the protection reacts. In the
fan off. case of thermal overload, it
switches the motor off and
automatically turns it on
again after the motor has
cooled down.
DZQ.. and DZS.. units:
Motor too hot. Leave the unit
switched off until the motor
and the temperature limiter
cool down. Cool-down time
can be up to 30 minutes.
Only then, switch the unit
back on.
Impeller is blocked.
Fan does not
switch on.
Repairs may only be
carried out by a trained
specialist.
