11. Cleaning and maintenance

a) General information

The vehicle and transmitter must be switched off before cleaning or maintenance. Remove the drive battery from
the vehicle. If you have driven the vehicle beforehand, let all parts (e.g. motor, electronic system, drive battery) cool
completely.
After you have finished driving the vehicle, remove all dust and dirt (e.g. using a clean long-haired brush and a vacuum
cleaner). Compressed air aerosols can also be helpful.
Do not use cleaning aerosols or conventional household cleaners. These may damage the electronic system and lead
to discolouration on the plastic parts or the body.
Never wash the vehicle using a garden hose or a high-pressure cleaner.
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the body. Do not rub too firmly, as this may result in scratch marks.

b) Before and after each trip

Engine vibrations and shocks during driving may cause certain parts and screw fittings to come loose.
Therefore, check the following before and after each trip:
• The secure seating of the wheel bolts and all other screw fittings on the vehicle
• The proper attachment of the body, receiver/control unit, etc.
• The proper attachment of the tyres to the wheel rims and the tyre condition
• The proper attachment of all cables (they must not touch the moving parts of the vehicle)
In addition, always check the vehicle for damage before and after each use. If there are any signs of dam-
age, discontinue use immediately.
Only use genuine spare parts when replacing worn vehicle parts (e.g. tyres) or defective vehicle parts (e.g.
a broken suspension arm).
