Clamping the Workpiece

To ensure optimum working safety, the work-
piece must always be firmly clamped.
Do not saw workpieces that are too small to
clamp.
Vertical Clamping
(see figure J1)
– Insert the quick-action clamp 47 provided in-
to one of the holes 11 intended for this pur-
pose.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the fence
10.
– Press the quick-release button 48 and adapt
the quick-action clamp to the workpiece.
– Afterwards, turn the locking knob 49 in clock-
wise direction to clamp the workpiece.
Horizontal Clamping
(see figure J2)
– Loosen wing nut 50 and pull the quick-action
clamp apart.
– Insert the now "reduced" quick-action clamp
47 into one of the holes 11 intended for this
purpose.
– Press the workpiece firmly against the saw
table 17.
– Press the quick-release button 48 and adapt
the quick-action clamp to the workpiece.
– Afterwards, turn the locking knob 49 in clock-
wise direction to clamp the workpiece.
Loosening the Workpiece
– To release the quick-action clamp, firstly turn
the loosening knob 49 in anticlockwise direc-
tion.
– Now press on the quick-release button 48
and pull the threaded rod away from the
workpiece.

Adjusting the Cutting Angle

To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of
the machine must be checked and adjusted as
necessary after intensive use (see "Checking
and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment", page 48).

Always tighten the locking knob 13 firmly
before sawing. Otherwise the saw blade can
become wedged in the workpiece.
Adjusting Horizontal Mitre Angles
The horizontal mitre angle can be set in the
range from 50° (left side) to 58° (right side).
– Loosen the locking knob 13 in case it is tight-
ened.
– Turn the saw table 17 left or right by the lock-
ing knob until the angle indicator 14 indi-
cates the requested mitre angle.
– Tighten the locking knob 13 again.
For quick and precise setting of often used mi-
tre angles, the saw table 17 engages at the de-
tents of the following standard angles:
Left
0°
15°; 22,5°;
30°; 45°
– Loosen the locking knob 13 in case it is tight-
ened.
– Turn the saw table 24 left or right by the lock-
ing knob until the requested standard mitre
angle engages.
Adjusting Vertical Bevel Angles
(see figure K)
The vertical bevel angle can be set in the range
from 0° to 45°.
– Loosen the clamping lever 30.
– Tilt the tool arm by the handle 5 until the an-
gle indicator 51 indicates the desired bevel
angle.
– Hold the tool arm in this position and retight-
en the clamping handle 30.
For quick and precise setting of the standard
angles 0° and 45° factory-set stop screws are
provided.
– For this, tilt the tool arm by the handle 5 to
the stop toward the right (0°) or to the stop
toward the left (45°).
Right
15°; 22,5°;
