Notes on Safety
In case of damage which is caused by not observing the operating instructions,
claims under the warranty are null and void! We accept no liability for resultant
damage.
In the case of damage to property and injury to persons caused by inappropria-
te operation or non-observance of the Notes on Safety, we can accept no liabi-
lity. Under such circumstances, the warranty becomes null and void.
a) Safety rules when installing and operating
Please observe the following rules when setting up your device:
a1 Avoid operating in extremely cold or extremely warm locations, e.g. on board a
vehicle in summer or directly next to a fan heater.
a2 Never switch on the device immediately on changing from cold room to warm
room conditions. The resulting condensation may cause irreparable damage to
the device. Allow the device to acclimatize to room temperature while still dis-
connected.
a3 Never obstruct the ventilation slits or openings in the housing, since otherwise
overheating and damage may result.
a4 Never operate the device in the vicinity of soldering irons.
a5 Never position the measuring device resting on the operating controls, since the
control knobs are liable to break.
b) General Safety Regulations
The frequency counters MXC-1600 and MXC-2800 have both left the factory in per-
fectly safe working order. To maintain this condition and ensure safe operation, the
user must observe the Notes on Safety and warnings contained in these operating
instructions.
The devices are of Protection Class I design and are fitted with a VDE-tested mains
cable including a protective ground conductor. The devices may thus only be
connected to 230 V DC voltage mains supply including protective grounding.
Please check that there are no breaks in the protective ground conductor
(yellow/green), either in the mains cable or in the device itself, since breaks constitu-
te a potentially lethal hazard.
Measuring devices and equipment should be kept away from children!
In the workplace, the accident prevention measures of the Association of Employer's
Liability Insurance for electrical plant and operating material must be observed.
