12. STARTING AID

Important!
The quick-start system is only suitable for vehicles with a board voltage of 12 V where the minus pole of
the vehicle battery is connected to the car body.
Always observe the information and safety notes in the vehicle operating instructions regarding how starting aid is
possible. Modern vehicles have sensitive electronics components and control devices that will be damaged if the
wrong procedure is used!
Due to the limited battery capacity of the quick-start system, this is only suitable for jump-starting vehicles with a
vehicle battery that has a capacity of no more than 30 Ah either. These are usually lawn tractors, motor cycles or
small cars with a petrol engine.
Proceed as follows for jump starting:
• Switch off the ignition of the vehicle you want to provide starting aid for. Switch off all electrical consumers (e.g.
radio, light, etc.).
• Ensure that the rechargeable battery in the quick-start system is fully charged (see chapter 8).
• The rotary switch (11) must be in the position „OFF". Also switch off all other functions of the quick-start system
(working lamp, USB output, etc.).
• For vehicles where the minus pole of the vehicle battery is connected to the car body (current vehicles), first
connect the red alligator clamp of the quick-starting system to the plus pole („+") of the vehicle battery.
• Then the black alligator clamp has to be connected to a blank metal part (no painted sheet, no plastic) of the
motor block. Keep as much distance as possible from the vehicle battery and any fuel lines.
• If the cable clamps are swapped, the LED (3) will light up red and a warning sound will sound.
• If the plus and minus cables are connected correctly, the LED (3) will light up green. Additionally, the display
is activated for a few seconds. The display shows the charge condition of the internal rechargeable battery in
percentages on the right. On the left in the display, you can see the charge condition of the vehicle's rechargeable
battery. This charge condition is displayed as „Battery OK, Battery Low or Battery Dead". Also observe the notes in
the following chapter 13.
The LED display for connection with reversed or correct polarity, as well as the warning sound, only works
at a remaining vehicle battery voltage of larger than/equal to 5 V. If the LED (3) does not light up or is lit only
very weakly, the vehicle's rechargeable battery has a voltage of less than 5 V. In this case, the quick-start
system should not be connected because of the currents expected. The vehicle battery must be removed and
charged with a suitable charger in this case.
• Turn the rotary control (11) to position „ON".
• Perform a starting test for the vehicle (approx. 5 - 6 seconds). Do not have the starter on for more than 6 seconds.
The quick-start system is not intended for longer starting attempts. After the 6 seconds, wait for at least 3 minutes.
• If the motor does not start even after several starting attempts, stop your starting aid.
• First switch the switch (11) to „OFF", disconnect the black alligator clamp from the vehicle, coil it laterally on the
quick start system and fasten the alligator clamp in the intended holder (6).
• Only then disconnect the red alligator clamp from the vehicle battery. Coil this cable on the other side of the quick-
starting system and fasten the alligator clamp to the holder (6) intended for this as well.
• Charge the quick-starting system again.
