R&TTE Directive
The TPA 200 is a class 1 wireless device (R&TTE
1999/55/EC) approved for use in Europe.
i
In non-European countries the corresponding
national regulations on the operation of wire-
less devices in the 2.4 GHz frequency band
must be heeded (e.g. WLAN or Bluetooth).
2.5
Important information regard-
ing Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless connection in the un-
licensed 2.4 Ghz-ISM-Band (ISM: Industrial,
Scientific, Medical). This frequency range is not
subject to any governmental laws and may be
used in most countries without a license. This
results in many applications and devices trans-
mitting on this frequency band however. This
can cause frequency interference between these
devices.
Depending on the environmental conditions,
disturbance can occur in the Bluetooth connec-
tion, e. g. in WLAN connections (WLAN: Wire-
less Local Area Network), wireless telephones,
radio-controlled thermometers, radio-controlled
garage door openers, radio-controlled light
switches or radio-controlled alarm systems.
i
Bluetooth can lead to interference in the
bandwidth of the WLAN-network. The anten-
nas of Bluetooth and WLAN devices should
be positioned at least 30 centimeters apart.
Bluetooth-USB adapters and WLAN must not
be placed in adjacent USB sockets in the PC/
Laptop. A USB extension cable (special ac-
cessories) should be used to ensure that the
Bluetooth-USB adapter is separate from the
WLAN stick.
i
Generally, people who wear a pacemaker or
other essential electronic device should ex-
ercise extreme caution when using wireless
technology, as it may impair the function of
their particular device.

Product Description

3.1

Intended use

The TPA 200 can be used to read and display
measurement data from tire pressure sensors
(referred to in the following as sensors) from
all the usual manufacturers. Vehicle sensors
can also be reconfigured and activated. If sen-
sors are being replaced, measurement data
from the removed sensors can be copied and
programmed onto new sensors (only sensors
from Schrader International Inc. and ALLIGA-
TOR Ventilfabrik GmbH). The "TPA Startcenter"
software can save the measurement data from
the TPA 200 in a database, and this enables a
vehicle-specific test protocol to be created.
!
The TPA 200 is only to be used, when the
vehicle is stationary. The TPA 200 must not
come into contact with water or other liquids.
3.2
Prerequisites
The "TPA Startcenter" software must be in-
stalled on a PC/laptop with a Win Vista (32-bit),
Win 7 (32/64-bit) or Win 8 (32/64-bit) operating
system. The PC/laptop must have at least one
free USB port (USB 2.0 or USB 3.0). The USB
port is used for charging the internal storage
battery of the , and it can also be used for trans-
ferring the measured values.
i
A parallel operation with TPA 200 is not pos-
sible for ESI[tronic] 2.0 users with Win XP
or Win Vista. The "TPA Startcenter" software
must be installed on another PC/laptop. Win
Vista with ESI[tronic] 2.0 does not support
the Microsoft Bluetooth driver.
3.3
Training
The TPA 200 must be operated by specialist
personnel instructed in its use. We recommend
user training
