or „MAX" (only the highest temperature value during measurement
is shown) measuring functions, or the normal temperature display.
Use the °C/°F conversion button (7) to select the display unit you
require (°C/°F).
When the laser is switched on, the laser beam will appear approxima-
tely in the centre of the measuring area. This makes it easier to make
precise measurement. To activate the laser, press the laser on/off
pushbutton (4) when the device is switched on. The laser symbol (17)
is then shown in the LCD display. When the temperature measure-
ment button (8) is pressed, the laser beam will appear approximately
in the centre of the measuring area. To deactivate the laser, press the
on/off pushbutton (4) again, and the laser symbol (17) will go out.
When taking measurements in the dark, the button (5) for background
illumination can be activated and deactivated.
Measuring area size - Distance to Spot Ratio (D/S)
To enable you to achieve precise measuring results, the object to be
measured must be larger than the size of the measuring area on the
infrared thermometer. The temperature recorded is the average
temperature of the area measured. The smaller the object to be
measured, the shorter the distance must be to the infrared thermo-
meter. The precise size of the measuring area is shown in the follo-
wing diagram. It is also printed on the device. For precise measure-
ments, the object to be measured must be at least twice the size of
the measuring area.
