13. Maintenance

Regularly check the technical safety of the laser, e.g. for damage to the mains cable or the casing.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and make
sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the mains plug from the mains socket!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• the device is visibly damaged
• the device no longer works
• the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for an extended period of time or
• after exposure to extraordinary stress caused by transport
Always observe the following safety information before cleaning the device:
This laser device contains very strong laser light sources. Therefore, never open the device. The
laser irradiation may cause irreversible eye damage, skin burns or fire hazards. Live components
may be exposed if the housing is opened. This means a danger to life for you!
Only qualified experts familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations must
perform repairs.
a) Fuse Replacement
If the fuse must be replaced, observe that only fuses of the indicated type and rated current (see Technical Data) must
be used.
Never repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and disconnect the low-voltage cable from the
mains connection (8) at the device.
• Using a suitable screwdriver, carefully lever out the fuse holder with the defective fuse FUSE (9) at the mains
connection (8).
• Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a new fuse of the indicated type.
• Carefully push the fuse holder with the new fuse back into its position at the mains connection (8).
• After this, you can reconnect the device to the mains and take it into operation.

b) Cleaning

Disconnect the device from all voltage sources before cleaning (disconnect mains plug!).
Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth or brush only.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the casing or
the sensitive laser lens.
