6. Battery Notes

The operating duration may be very low due to the low
starting voltage of rechargeable batteries (batteries =
1.5 V, rechargeable batteries = 1.2 V).
We therefore recommend that you use high-quality alka-
line batteries for long and safe operation.
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not leave any batteries lying around openly. There is a risk
of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed,
consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can
cause chemical burns to skin when touched without the use of
adequate protective gloves.
Liquids leaking from batteries batteries are chemically highly
aggressive. Objects or surfaces that come into contact with
them may take severe damage. Therefore, keep batteries in a
suitable location.
• Batteries must not be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown
into fi re. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; danger of
explosion!
• Do not mix batteries in different condition (e.g. fully and par-
tially charged batteries).
• Always replace the whole set of batteries.
• Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batter-
ies (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
