7.3
Point the light beam from a torch at the sensor from all four
primary directions, and check the response of the control
surfaces as described on the next page.
Light beam from the front: the elevator should deflect downward.
Light beam from behind: the elevator should deflect upward
Light beam from right-hand side: the left aileron should deflect down,
the right aileron up.
Light beam from left-hand side: the left aileron should deflect up, the
right aileron down.
If the elevator does not respond as described, locate the switch
marked ECE on the Auto-Control-Board (ACB), and check that it is at
the ON position.
If your transmitter does not feature servo reverse (reverse switch for
direction of rotation), you can reverse either servo channel using the
switches marked 1 + 2 on the Auto-Control-Board (ACB).
8.
Flying the model for the first time
8.1
For the first flight we recommend that you set the sensitivity of
the system to minimum. If you find that the model is not
sufficiently stable, check the sensitivity setting: the setting
should be at around 1/8 of the available range. If AUX is not
used, the transmitter will not be able to switch the stabilising
function ON and OFF; in this case it is switched on
permanently.
8.2
If you are using a switched channel for AUX, the method of
working remains exactly as described under Point 8.1, with the
exception that the stabilising function can be switched ON and
OFF from the transmitter. Start by setting the sensitivity
adjuster (Auto-Control-Board = ACB) to the desired value; we
recommend 50%. The pilot can now vary the sensitivity setting
within the range 0 to 50%. If you set sensitivity to maximum,
you can vary the sensitivity setting within the range 0 to 100%
from the transmitter.
