Battery Checking and Handling

Battery Level Indicator

The battery icon
It shows the level of your battery power.
When the batteries are low, you hear a warning tone and the bat-
tery icon becomes red and starts blinking.
When the batteries are too low for the phone to operate, the hand-
set automatically turns off with warning beeps. In this case, place
the handset on the charger to charge the handset batteries for 12
hours ad described in
page
90. During the charge, the bar inside the battery icon will
"move" (shown alternatively). At the end of the charging process
(battery fully charged) the bar will be steadily shown inside the icon.
When the batteries are new, they don't provide 100% of their efficiency; it means that they might be
discharged earlier. To reach the full battery duty, you have to "run-in" the batteries with at least 3-4
deep charging/discharging cycles, after that they will reach their maximum capacity.

Restoring the Battery Duty

When possible, to keep the maximum battery duty, charge the batteries only when they are com-
pletely discharged, (i.e. when the battery icon has no bars inside or, at least, no more than one
bar) and don't remove the handset from the base before the necessary time to provide a full charge.
If with the time the batteries don't allow the full duty, try to fully discharge them (by normally using
the phone) till making the handset automatically switched off as over stated, then leave the handset
in the base for 15 hours before removing it. Repeat this deep charging/discharging cycle for at least
3 times. If the battery duty still doesn't increase, replace the batteries.
