- "Test": activation at any degree of brightness, because
the dusk sensor is deactivated (with the shortest switch-
off delay of approx. 2 seconds).
• Test by walking around in the detection zone to deter-
mine where the FM Sensor is activated.
• Remain standing until the consumers are switched off.
Then check your settings by "walking around".
NOTE
When the test position is vacated, the device switches off,
or into the set mode of operation, after a self-test of
1 minute.
A strong infrared signal can lead to slight deviations in the

switch-off delay.

Any new movement in the detection zone during the
switch-off delay reactivates the time again.

Operation with FM Inserts

The scope of operation of the FM inserts used is defined by
the FM Sensor.
CAUTION
Always observe the safety instructions, as well as the
data on types of load and installation instructions, etc.,
contained in the relevant Operating Instructions.
Special Characteristics
a. MOS-Fet Insert 6804 U
There are no special characteristics.
b. Operation with the Universal Dimmer 6590 U-10x
Connected consumers can be controlled, but no longer
dimmed. It is no longer possible to set a minimum degree
of brightness.
In combination with the 6590U-102 ("Soft-OFF" operating
mode), the Busch Watchdog flush-mounted insert does
not switch off the light abruptly but dims down within 60
seconds before switching off. If another movement is
detected within this time, the flush-mounted insert switches
back to 100%.

b. Switch-off Delay (see Fig. 7)
The timer integrated in these FM Sensorscontrols the ON
time of the activated consumers. This function is, e.g.,
necessary if a frequently traversed corridor prevents con-
stant on and off switching, or if it is necessary to bridge
standstill periods in the detection zone.
The switch-off delay can be set, in conjunction with the FM
Relay Insert 6401 U-101, to a short-time impulse
1 second to control e.g., door bells and/or time switches for
staircase lighting. When a switching signal is emitted, a
further switching signal to activated consumers is
suppressed for nine seconds, even if the FM Sensor has
again effected detection.
• Select another time value by setting the
setscrew to the desired value
(e.g., 15 minutes).

6805 U, the switch-on delays of the master and the exten-
sion add up.

Extension Operation
Extension operation in conjunction with the FM Sensors is
possible via
- a separate pushbutton input for the FM inserts de-
scribed or
- activation via an NC pushbutton in the voltage supply
line,
- or Extension Insert 6805 U.
Further information is contained in the Table a the beginning
of the Operating Instructions.
NOTE
In the case of extension operation via NO pushbutton, the
maximum length of the extension line must not exceed
100 m.
Use only pushbuttons without contact-parallel lighting.
To prevent disturbances as a result of ripple voltage, the
switched line must be laid separately to the extension line.
