RESIDUAL RISKS

The machine has been built using modern technology
in accordance with recognized safety rules. Some
hazards, however, may still exist.
• Injuries on fingers and hands caused by the running
tool in case of incorrect guiding of the workpiece.
• Health hazards through steel chips. It is imperative
to wear personal protective gear like goggles.
• Injuries through defective cutting off wheel. Regu-
larly check the cutting off wheel for any defects.
• Health hazards for fingers and hands when chang-
ing the cutting off wheel. Wear proper working
gloves.
• Health hazards when switching on the machine
through the starting cutting off wheel.
• Risks through electric current if defective electric
connection cables are used.
• Health hazards through the running cutting off
wheel with long hair and loose clothing. Wear per-
sonal protective gear like a hair net und closely fit-
ting clothes.
• Even when all safety measures are taken, some
remaining hazards which are not yet evident may
still be present.
• Remaining hazards can be minimized by following
the instructions in ‟Safety regulations", ‟Intended
use", and in the entire operating manual
VI. Before putting the machine into
operation
• Unpack the metal cutting-off machine and check
it for damage which may have occurred in transit.
• The machine has to be set up where it can stand
firmly, e.g. on a work bench, or it must be bolted to
a strong base.
• All covers and safety devices have to be properly
fitted before the machine is switched on.
• It must be possible for the cutting-off wheel to run
freely.
• Before you actuate the ON/OFF-switch, make sure
that the cutting-off wheel is correctly fitted and that
the machineʼs moving parts run smoothly.
• Before you connect the machine to the power sup-
ply, make sure the data on the rating plate is the
same as that for your mains.
• Release the (8) locking device.
VII. Assembly
Important. Always pull out the power plug before
carrying out maintenance, resetting or assembly
work.
Transport brace / carry-handle (See Fig. 1 / 2)
Push machine head (9) down with the handle (13) and
pull out the locking device (8).
Slowly raise the machine head (9).

Caution! The resetting spring lifts the machine head
(9) automatically. Therefore, do not simply let go of
the handle (13) after cutting, but allow the machine
head (9) to rise slowly by applying slight counter pres-
sure.
Fig.1 shows the machine head (9) in its upper posi-
tion.
For transporting, the machine head (9) should be
locked in the lower position with the locking device
(8). See Fig.2
The saw is equipped with a carry-handle (10) to make
it easier to transport.
Vice (See Fig. 3)
Every workpiece has to be fastened in the vice before
it is cut.
Flip up the quick clamping lever (5).
Pull out the clamping handle (6) far enough for the
workpiece to be clamped between the clamping jaws
(4/7) of the vice.
Clamping jaw Pos. A1 (Fig.3) for maximum workpiece
width 230 mm
Clamping jaw Pos. A2 (Fig.3) for maximum work-
piece width 190 mm
Clamping jaw Pos. A3 (Fig.3) for maximum workpiece
width 150 mm
Note: You do not have to turn the clamping handle (6)
when the quick clamping lever (5) has been flipped
up. The clamping handle (6) can be pulled out or
pushed in to the exact amount required.
Push the clamping handle (6) forward to the point
where both jaws (4/7) touch the workpiece.
Flip down the quick clamping lever (5) again so that
the clamping handle (6) and quick clamping lever (5)
engage with each other.
Turn the clamping handle (6) to safely secure the
workpiece in the vice.
Mitre cuts (See Fig. 3)
The adjustable clamping jaw(7) can be swiveled from
0° to 45° to the left and 0° to 30° to the right in order
to make mitre cuts.
Slacken the two screws (A).
Turn the adjustable clamping jaw (7) of the vice to the
required angle.
Retighten the screws (A).
When you clamp the workpiece, the flexible clamp-
ing jaw (4) will automatically swing into the correct
position and align itself with the workpiece in order to
ensure that the workpiece is safely fastened.
Adjusting the stop screw (See Fig. 7)
The downward movement of the cutting-off wheel can
be adjusted with the cutting depth adjusting screw
(15). This is necessary to compensate wheel wear
– as the cutting-off wheel becomes smaller in diam-
eter it would no longer be able to cut right through the
workpiece.
Undo the lock nut .
Turn the cutting depth adjusting screw (15) in or out
as required.
