7 Shortening of rod ropes
Probe rods can be shortened by sawing them off.
8 Re-calibration of the instrument
Install the instrument into the vessel.
If the probe length is identical with the original length of the probe, a probe calibration is not required.
If the probe length or probe type is different, perform a new level calibration according to the description in the Operating Manual.
Additionally it is necessary to order a new typeplate and fix it on the instrument!

1. Loosen the 3 hexagon socket set screws, increased torque is essential.
2. Remove released rope from the weight.
3. Measure off new rope length.
4. Wrap adhesive tape around the rope at the point to be shortened to prevent

5. Saw off the rope at a right angle or cut it off with a bolt cutter.
6. Unisolate the PA coated rope:
- rope 4 mm (1/6"): 40 mm (1.6 inch) deep
- rope 6 mm (1/4"): 55 mm (2.2 inch) deep
7. Insert the rope completely into the weight.
8. Screw the hexagon socket set screws into place.
