8. Installation and Commissioning

a) General Information
The outdoor unit should be installed in a protected area, e.g. next to the entrance door
(e.g. under an awning), so that the visitor is standing right in front of it when he pushes
the button. The camera should be installed approx. at a height of 145 - 150 cm, depending
on the ambient conditions at the installation site.
The indoor unit is only suitable for installation and use in a dry, closed inner room.
The rechargeable battery permits mobile operation of the indoor unit. If you
install the enclosed standing feet on the indoor unit, the indoor unit can be set
up on a suitable surface.
Two apertures at the rear of the housing also makes it possible to install the
indoor unit on two screws, e.g. on the inside next to the entrance door. The
installation height should be approx. 140 cm.
If you want to install the indoor unit on the wall, check whether proper radio
reception is possible before installation.
Select a stable surface as installation site. Do not install the indoor and outdoor units
on metal surfaces or near any other electrical/electronic devices, however, since this
will reduce radio range.
When drilling or tightening screws, ensure that no wires or lines are damaged!
The same applies when placing connection cables of the outdoor unit and any
masonry work required because of this.
The aerial (30) of the outdoor unit is attached via an SMA connection (31). In case of
reception problems, it is possible to use an extension cable (not enclosed) and to install the
aerial elsewhere. Suitable SMA extension cables can be found online at www.conrad.com.
